01 — WHAT I BELIEVE

Performance is a feature, not an afterthought.

I believe that well-optimized database queries and efficient API design are the backbone of a great user experience. Technical debt should be managed daily, not just during refactoring cycles.

When systems are built to be maintainable, they naturally become more performant.

I.

Code should be legible and reusable.

I prioritize writing modular components and services. If you have to copy-paste, you have to refactor. A little extra time upfront pays for itself in the long run.

II.

Engineering is a team sport.

Collaboration, code reviews, and clear communication are just as important as the syntax. I value environments where we can debate technical choices and align on a shared goal.

III.

Constant learning is the only constant.

Technology evolves fast. From AI/ML concepts to distributed systems, staying curious keeps my engineering perspective fresh and my solutions modern.

02 — SIGNATURE WORK

FLYDOCS · AVIATION PLATFORM · 2024

Scalable APIs for aviation compliance.

STACK

Node.js, Angular

THE CHALLENGE

Handling large-scale aviation data.

The platform serves airlines and OEMs, requiring robust backend APIs that can handle complex compliance workflows without compromising performance.

Data synchronization and heavy query loads were creating bottlenecks that impacted the end-user experience for compliance officers.

THE APPROACH

Optimize the database and structure.

I focused on optimizing SQL queries, implementing pagination, and ensuring robust data indexing to handle large datasets effectively.

Collaboration with stakeholders allowed us to align technical requirements with business goals, ensuring every feature was both performant and compliant.

06 — THE LEARNING LIST

Technical challenges solved.

Engineering is about constant iteration. These are three technical hurdles I've cleared—and one that taught me the most about production environments.

PROJECT 01 — PERFORMANCE

Latency Optimization

Big Oh Tech · 2024

Faced with response times around 500ms, I analyzed the bottleneck in our data retrieval pipelines. By refactoring complex SQL queries, implementing smarter pagination, and indexing key fields, I brought that latency down to 300ms.

The result was a 40% improvement in application responsiveness. It taught me that small, deliberate changes to how we handle data often yield the biggest wins for the end user.

PROJECT 02 — ARCHITECTURE

Aviation Compliance

Flydocs · 2024

Building for aviation compliance requires absolute data integrity and reliability. I developed scalable backend modules that handle complex workflows for airlines and OEMs, ensuring that large datasets are synchronized accurately across the platform.

I learned the importance of reusable service architecture here—by modularizing our backend, we reduced code duplication by 30% and made it significantly easier for the team to ship new features faster.

PROJECT 03 — INTERFACE

Real-time Trading

IGX · 2024

Working on a live trading platform meant moving away from static updates. I integrated our Angular frontend with robust Node.js APIs to support auction workflows, prioritizing seamless UI responsiveness under load.

High-stakes environments don't leave room for error; this project refined my focus on clean code standards and rigorous testing protocols.

07 — TECHNICAL STRENGTHS
